Personal details

She has a PhD in Social Work from ISCTE-IUL, a Master's in Sociology from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto and a degree in Social Work from the Porto Higher Institute of Social Work. She has been an assistant professor at the Porto Higher Institute of Social Work and the administrator of the European Association of Schools of Social Work since 2017. She has collaborated regularly with the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro since 2016, as a guest lecturer on the undergraduate and master's programmes in Social Work. With different institutional teaching experiences in Social Work and Gerontology and Physical Activity for the Elderly, she practises activist pedagogy in the field of gender inequality and violence against women. She works within the framework of Critical, Radical and Structural Social Work. She has published papers in conference proceedings, a book chapter in an indexed international encyclopaedia and articles in magazines. She has carried out various academic activities in Social Work at national and international level. She networks with local institutions in the field of Social Work and the struggles she defends. Due to her young age, she is currently consolidating her research, based on her most recent work published as a doctoral thesis. Her current research interests centre on social intervention through art and culture in oppressed communities; feminism; sexuality and gender; interculturality; social intervention with migrants, refugees and homeless people; addictive behaviours and dependencies; keeping an open mind to embrace unknown paths and new challenges.
