In this discipline of Introduction to Economics it is intended to teach students a set of fundamental concepts that allow the analysis of the main issues of economic theory.
The main objectives are to raise awareness of the usefulness of economics, to teach the basic concepts and forms of reasoning that characterize the methodology of economic science.
Application to concrete economic problems or references to the history of economic science will provide incentives for learning the fundamental concepts.
1. The capitalist revolution.
2. Technology, population and growth.
3. Economic fluctuations and unemployment.
Using the CORE methodology (https://www.core-econ.org), the contents selected in the program allow students to acquire a critical and scientific vision intended on contemporary economic problems, in a way accessible to students of Social Work.

The development of the contents will be carried out based on a theoretical approach, building a basic frame of reference, either through exposition or through the resolution of practical exercises. These approaches will be complemented, from an application perspective, with case analysis. The development of competencies will be enhanced by strategies discussion of results.

Three tests, with 1/3 weighting each in the final grade.
In each test the student must have at least 6.5 values.
For non-working students, attendance at classes is worth 10% of the final grade (the other 90% is equally distributed across the 3 tests).
