1. Provide students with the concepts and other theoretical-practical instruments of management of organizations in general.
2. Provide students with the concepts and other specific theoretical-practical instruments of the management of organizations providing services to the elderly, of a social or lucrative nature.
3. Contribute to the interdisciplinary training of senior technicians of social gerontology.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's learning objectives

Understanding what an organization is, whether it is in the profit or non-profit sector, understanding how the planning and design of the strategy is processed, as well as elucidating how organizational decisions are made and performance is controlled and evaluated, gives students a sufficiently robust theoretical-practical overview of how the management of organizations is and how it works, which covers the three learning objectives proposed for this U.C.

Learning Methods

The discipline, being theoretical-practical, will be developed in class by the theoretical presentation of the programmatic contents, followed by their application to concrete examples involving institutions providing services to the elderly.
