Learning Methods

The course is organized in classes with a theoretical component and a tutorial component. The teaching methodologies used will be more expository (ME1) in the approach to CP1. It is possible to resort to methodologies that appeal to the active participation of students (ME2), particularly in the topics set out in CP2 and CP3, which will be approached in close conjunction with the students' field experiences in the tutorial component of the curricular unit. It is planned to use methodologies more oriented towards participation, debate and argumentation, taking into account the opportunity for students to have contact with invited professionals in Open Classes (ME3).

Assessment Components

Avaliação apenas com exame final

Continuous Assessment

Continuous assessment is based on several elements:

a) Fieldwork assessment (attendance, punctuality, availability and commitment to fieldwork activities) - student self-assessment and internship supervisor's assessment of the student's performance during the internship (see assessment criteria grid) - 25%;
b) Record of fieldwork throughout the semester - 25%.
c) Final report reflecting on the internship - 40%;
d) Class participation - 10%.

Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes

The ME1 is more expository in nature and is geared towards students achieving the OA1, namely on the fundamental concepts highlighted in learning about the phenomenon(s) under study. MoU2 seeks to promote knowledge of the economic, political, social and cultural changes surrounding the crisis of the welfare state, the reformulation of social policies and the impact on professional modes of action, in conjunction with the students' performance in fieldwork. This methodology will enable students to achieve OA2 and OA3. ME2 and ME3, by encouraging students to participate in the classroom and in thematic conferences, encouraging debate, aim not only to contribute to enriching and strengthening the theoretical and theoretical-practical knowledge set out in OA1, OA2 and OA3, but also to provide access to good practices in the field of Social Work.
